For his bachelor's in biotechnology, Mauro Battipede studied at the University of Pisa (Scuola Normale Superiore) and investigated potentiated dendritic spines in the hippocampus. He then did his master's in Integrated Life Sciences at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and wrote his thesis about homologous chromosome pairing in meiosis from a theoretical and computational perspective. In 2024, he joined the theory lab of our chair as a PhD student to investigate the origins of life, with his work focusing on target search in a complex oligonucleotide pool, further being part of the ORIGINS excellence cluster.
He also likes to drink his coffee very well brewed.
